Reds update with Big Hawaii, 04/30/09

昨天4/29/09的Cincinnati Reds投手 stats.

Finally, Volquez had his first good game this season.

1. 昨天那場比賽, Reds 3:0贏球. 結束了這個2-4 homestand,有點讓人失望的主場戰績.還有結尾帶來了一點正面的消息.
2. 昨天比賽也正式結束了四月份的比賽,今日休兵日.四月份戰績 11-10. over 500. Not great, but it's good enough. 特別是在打擊幾近熄火的狀態下.還能拼出這樣的成績.是運氣嗎？可以這麼說,但是投手的狀態讓球隊能夠有一博的機會,五月待觀察,屆時就會知道是不是運氣了. About Defense, forget about it. I don't believe they are a good defense team anymore.
3. 講到Defense,若是有個good defense right-fielder. 昨天Volquez挑戰的可說是無安打比賽. Bruce 在一局上missed Tejada一個catchable的球.而那支安打是昨晚唯一一支安打.
4. 講到Volquez,除了那支安打外,另外給了兩位跑者上壘.一個保送.一個觸身.投滿八局,用球106, 67個好球.中間最長連續淘汰對方17位打者. Awesome.
5. 他投完八局後決定交給CoCo去收尾. I like this decision. Complete game is good. But unless you are flirting with no-hitter or perfect game. Give it to closer. He already had a terrific game.
6. 但是在106球的pitch count下, Aaron Harang在同樣狀況下,九局一定會跑出來. Because he is Horse Harang. 個人感想. 這種情形就要Baker pulled him out of mound. 但是歷史經驗,我覺得Baker不太會這麼作.他會讓Harang and Arroyo hanged in there until opponent got a hit. 那兩位 pitch count上120 是很正常的事.
7. 106球, 67 strikes. The ratio is low. 據說 Volquez並不是在他的Best game condition. 根據Astros的球員跟教練所說,詳細引述請看Mark Sheldon的Blog. But, still a good news that he can have a good game, if it's not great game.
8. 開始講野手吧.昨天打擊一樣冷.但是靠著兩名替補等級球員打進三分,撐住了這場比賽. Adam Rosales在今年debut的比賽,打進兩分.而Laynce Nix則是在今年首度列在先發陣容的比賽下打進一分.在EE受傷情況下, Rosales應該會一直在lineup中.而Dickerson在觀察中, Nix應該也會pencil in 在接下來的兩場比賽.
9. Phillips昨天沒上場,但是對記者發了一堆牢騷. 我的感想, Com'on, Brandon. Could you be quite? 不要只是打嘴砲. Leader不是用嘴講的. 特別是週日比賽才把一支二壘打打成一壘打.
