Some Reds updates.

I was out of town to visit my friends/family in Easter. I missed some updates about reds. But if you check the Cincinnati.com and John Fay's blog, you probably alreday knew those updates.

1. Milton out of DL; Jared Burton is on DL.
Eric Milton被排訂在週日先發後,眾人關心的焦點就在要如何做調度排Eric Milton進入25人名單,講實在的,除了Jared Burton以外,先發四人跟牛棚接表現傑出,但是Jared Burton是Rule 5 Draft Player.他不能被下放到小聯盟去,Reds又想要多留他一陣子以作觀察.週日的roster調整結果出來,果然Jared Burton中選.以下是Quote from AP

Relief pitcher Jared Burton experienced some discomfort in his left hamstring while running pre-game sprints Saturday.

When he arrived Sunday morning at Great American Ball Park, and reported some stiffness in the hamstring, the Reds went ahead and placed him on the 15-day disabled list.

"They just decided to take it slow and be safe," Burton said.

其實這個動機很明顯,我想很多人都跟我一樣,不相信Jared Burton有值得進15天DL的傷,只不過是一點點不舒服罷了(很多人甚至懷疑根本就沒事).但是菜鳥要忍耐,送到傷兵名單不但解決Reds燃眉之急,把Milton送上rotation.
出DL後,還可送到小聯盟作rehab,這樣可以讓他有一段合法在小聯盟磨練的時間.屆時或許會有解決的roster調度的辦法,也可讓Jared Burton更成熟一些(第一次大聯盟登場,連投三個保送就被換下). Good move. Wayne Krivsky.

2. Milton has a ok outing for a fifth starter.
把Burton放上DL後, Milton在昨天攝氏2度左右登板投球,投5 2/3局,10安打包括Jack Wilson的一個兩分打點全壘打,丟四分,全是責失,1保送,6三振.以一個第五先發,並不算太壞,以一個900萬年薪的投手,算是不好.但是若是以一場在攝氏2度狀況下投的比賽來判斷他是否值得留下,似乎不太公平,他值得多觀察幾場.何況,第五先發投接近六局,not bad.

3. Homer Bailey had a good game in AAA
Homer Bailey昨天在Louisville投他在AAA的第一場比賽,投5 1/3局,僅被打1安打,丟一分,三保送,4三振,投83球,42個好球. 另一位明星農場一壘手Joey Votto擊出一滿貫砲, Bats 13-3贏 Toledo Mud Hens.
Homer Bailey有一個good outing, 不過壞球比例過高.但若是Homer持續成長,Milton則繼續維持個ok的第五先發,GM的壓力會越來越大.

4. Bobby Livingston AAA先發
另一位第五先發競爭者,在上週AAA先發的表現則不是很好.Livingston在春訓時表現優異.在上週同樣先發對上Toledo Mud Hens.投5 1/3, 被打9安打,失4分,1保送,3三振.

5. Bill Bray update - no good.
今天早上的X光檢查,左手中指尖端有一個小的,不可替代的輕微裂痕(small, non-displaced hairline fracture at the tip of left index finger.). 將要上夾板7-10天.
